He may well go down in X Factor history as the act who reduced Simon Cowell to tears – but hopeful Josh Daniel almost opted for a different song altogether at his audition.

Speaking to the Mirror Josh’s friend Kerrianne Covell – who reached the judges’ houses stage of the ITV series in 2014 – revealed that he’d actually had his eye on another track, but chose to sing Labrinth’s Jealous after performing it for her and friend Liv Quantrill.

‘Josh was going to sing Kiss Me Quick by Nathan Sykes,’ Kerrianne recalled.

‘We were in the dance studio and Liv said ‘I don’t think that’s the song. What are your other song choices?’

However, the pair managed to change his mind after being blown away by a performance which saw him kneeling on the floor to sing.

‘I said There’s no question about it. If you can touch the hearts of people like you just with did us, just kneeling on the floor, it’s got to be that one”,’ Kerrianne explained.

‘That was a couple of days before his audition and he rang to ask if he could change his song.’

Josh revealed on Sunday night’s show that he was dedicating the song to his friend Tom Woolley, who died in 2013 aged just 18.

Viewers saw Simon – whose mother Julie Brett died shortly before auditions began – becoming visibly upset as the performance went on, later being driven away in a golf cart as Cheryl F-V and Nick Grimshaw were left wondering what to do.

Alice Fredenham

When Alice stepped onto the stage, the judges asked her how she was feeling, and she answered, “Scared.” Alice was visibly nervous and told interviewers that she’s dealt with stage fright all her life before taking the stage.

A lot of Alice’s nerves were due to being afraid of the judges–that their rejection of her is a sign that she’s not good enough. Her music began to play, and the audience held their breath.

The contestant chose to sing “My Funny Valentine,” a jazz standard that was once Chet Baker’s signature song. During the introductory notes, the stadium was awkwardly silent.

Then Alice sang the first line, “My funny valentine, Sweet comic valentine…” Her voice was a bit shaky. Notably, Simon Cowell’s head was down. Perhaps he didn’t want to make Alice more nervous by staring at her.

However, when Alice got to the line, “You make me smile with my heart,” her volume increased, and she hit notes listeners were not expecting. Simon put his head up and began to smile.

Alice moved her arms throughout the song, reminiscent of Nina Simone’s performances. Simon and the other judges were in awe of her. Alice’s sultry rendition of “My Funny Valentine” won her a pass to the next round and a standing ovation from the audience and all four judges.

4.Simon Cowell and Judges Cry Over Emotional Dog Magic Act on Britain’s Got Talent 2020 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰

Just when you think the judges on Britain’s Got Talent must have seen everything, along comes an act that reduces them to tears….and, it’s over a story about a dog.

When Amanda and Miracle appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, no one knew was to expect from the dog and human act. But it wasn’t long into the show that it was apparent that something very special was taking place and it would evoke a lot of emotion from the judges.

Miracle, a beautiful white dog, came out on the stage, and his owner Amanda showed Simon a stack of cards, each with a picture of the 40 more dogs she had at home. She had him cut the cards into equal piles and pass one of them along facedown to the other judges.

While we’re left wondering what the pictures are for, a video begins to play explaining why Amanda has 40 more dogs at home. As it happened, six years prior, Miracle was part of the dog meat trade. He was found crushed in a cage with over 1000 other dogs seemingly dead.

When rescuers saw him for the first time stuffed inside the cramped cage, he was hanging partially out of it and they thought he was gone. But, when the camera documenting the tragic scene flashed, he opened one eye.

Rescuers were shocked, it was a miracle he was alive, so they called him Miracle. They couldn’t leave him behind, so they brought him back to Scotland where they loved and nurtured him back to health. But they didn’t stop there, they rescued 19 more dogs making their pack over 40.

Thankfully, today Miracle is a beautiful, happy dog. And, he got to choose 4 dog friends to bring with him on his appearance at Britain’s Got Talent. But who would those 4 lucky dogs be? Well, the answer shocked the judges.

What happened next was another miracle. The 4 cards that the judges choose were the same dogs that Miracle chose to be on the show. They happily ran out onto the stage leaving everyone watching to wonder just how Miracle pulled off the trick.

Miracle is a survivor and also full of surprises. A person cannot watch his story and be untouched. It is unfathomable that a dog meat trade still exists in the world today but thankfully, some dogs make it out alive thanks to people like Amanda.
